Fairytale Window

I hope you've all been enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend. The sun has been hit and miss but generally Summer is in the air. I love the slow feel Bank Holiday's bring. A change in pace, time for relaxed meals too, Salads, Fruity Ice Tea, lovely. I've been sewing too, making a few things for the Vintage Window Display coming up in the next few weeks. I made some lovely things for my current Window Display, things I wouldn't have made if not for these gorgeous Fabrics now in.

Kate & Birdie - Story Book -

These Beautiful Fabrics have been used in this Child's Dress & Bag made by my friend Sam from BlueButterfly

The Pirate & Princess Doll are made by my friend Michaela of Four J Creations and are available to purchase from the Shop

The Paper Pom Poms were very easy to make and make very effective Fluffy Clouds. I made a Hot Air Balloon to go with the Balloon Fabric too. The Pattern is from "The Crafty Kitty" a great website, well worth checking out. I loved making this English Paper Piercing Baby Ball using the Little Boys Designs and some Linen Blend I have available. I stuffed it with left over Wadding snipped into little pieces. I love the finished look of this, it's just so lovely, it would make a great gift for a New Baby or Christening.

This Bundle contains 5 Fat Quarters for £14.00, a brilliant way to get started on this Lovely Baby Ball. The Pattern was taken from "I Love Patchwork" by Rashida Coleman-Hale

I hope you've all enjoyed Sewing over this Bank Holiday. I'll be organising a Competition very soon for photos sent in of Creations made with my Fabrics. More info to follow.

Sew Over It Dress Patterns

I'm sorry I've not been here for a while. My Battery Charger was on the blink and it finally gave up :( I've been able to update Facebook briefly but I don't do well on other Tablets I'm not familiar with!! Anyway I'm back with lots of New Fabrics now available in the Shop.

Great News, The Little Fabric Store are now proud stockists of Lisa Comforts Dress Patterns. Lisa owns her Shop "Sew Over It" in London and has Designed the Dress Patterns available. Lisa has appeared on Kirstie's Homemade Home and has several books available.

I currently have Four Patterns available. They all come with an easy to follow Booklet and Paper Pattern. It's Glossary fully explains all the Sewing Terms used in the Booklet which is brilliant, especially for Beginners. It has Body Measurements for sizes 8 through to 20. They're priced at £12.00.

The "Ultimate Shift Dress" can be made in a Cotton, Polyester or Crepe. It has three versions of the Dress - SOLD OUT - I'm re-ordering

The "1940's Tea Dress" can be made using Fabric with a Drape for example Crepe, Rayon, Satin & Silk. There are two versions of this Dress
- These Fabric choices will soon be available -

The "Ultimate Wrap Dress" requires Jersey or a Stretch Material, it has two versions of this Dress
- Jersey Fabrics will be available soon -

The "Betty Dress" Pattern requires a Cotton Fabric

Lots of New Fabrics have arrived. I now stock Denim, Linens & Linen Blends. I'll add these Photos very soon. Why not visit over the Bank Holiday Weekend. The Shop will be Open on Friday & Saturday 9.30am - 4pm (closed Sun & Mon).

Robert Kaufman

The Little Fabric Store now stock Robert Kaufman. This Collection "Mod Geek" has been Designed by Sarah Johnston. They work great in Projects for Teenagers & the Men in our lives. Yes, Man Fabric is now here. I love the "Big Bang" theme it has going on.

I also stock 100% Cotton Wadding in a range of sizes. "Simply Cotton" has no Chemicals or Bleaching. It can be used for Hand or Machine Sewing and has a shrinkage of less than 5%. Kingsize Wadding is also available "Soft & Elegant" is a Comfort Blend of 80% Cotton & 20% Polyester. It's Long Staple Cotton with the Softness of Polyester, again no Chemicals or Bleaching.

I've put together some Scrap Bundles which contain 4 different Designs and are the equivalent of half a metre. These are available for £3.50. A great addition to any Applique Project.

I hope to meet you in the Shop soon - Helen -

Creative Weekend

I hope you all enjoyed your Bank Holiday Weekend. It's a great opportunity to get back into your Crafting Projects. I decided to head down to Serendipity in Louth to buy myself some Annie Sloan Paint. I found a lovely little Sewing Table in a Local Charity Shop and decided to restore it over the weekend. The Paint is brilliant, you just need to clean the woodwork and you're ready to go. I'll definitely be using it again.

My husband bought me some Liberty Fabric from London for Christmas. He picked two Designs, one I would never have picked. I fell in love with them both. I'd looking at them and think about what I'd use them for. I knew it had to be something special so I decided to line my Sewing Table with it. I'm so happy with how it turned out. The Paint really picks out the colours in the Fabric.

That's the thing with Fabric, it can be used for so many different Projects it's truly individual to you. I love the freedom you get from this, although it may take a bit of time to get there it's so worth it.

I'd love to hear what Projects you're working on - Helen -
