I've never been a big fan of advertising Christmas in August but as crafters we do need some extra time to make gifts and decorations for our home & family. To get you started here's the NEW Moda "Merry Merry Advent Stockings" panel. With full instructions printed on your panel, this cut out & sew advent is an achievable project for Christmas (additional fabrics are required for lining or backing).
This would look so sweet hung in your entrance hall, the perfect place for loved ones to receive a special something when they visit :)
Stacy is a fabric designer for Moda, her inspiration comes from reading books as a child. Stacy's fabric panels have full instructions printed on the panel & are easy to follow. There are a few additional things required, for example toy filling. They are listed on the panel. You will make the doll, bandana, blanket, pillow & pony on a stick.
- This is also available for you to make in store & online -
It also includes full instructions to make the doll,
bandana, skirt & belt, blanket, pillow & pony on a stick
- Retro Cowgirl Print available online & in store -
Now there's a story I'd like to share about Westly. Whilst making this little cowboy I knew it's home would eventually be in Cyprus where my nephew Liam lives. At this time I didn't know the cowboy was named Westly :) My mum was an avid Doris Day fan & one of her favourite films was "Moonlight Bay", it became a family favourite. My brother Mark was always up to mischief as was Wesley, Doris Day's little brother (sounding very similar to Westly). Mark is now Dad to Liam who no doubt will soon be up to mischief with his very own Cowboy Westly:)
This pattern gives detailed instructions & photos to make a pin cushion, needle case, little scissor keeper & a small project case. Priced at £7.99 available online & in store. It uses a 2.5" Mini Charm pack or you can make up 42 x 2.5" squares from your stash. I used the left over triangles from my Knitting Bag This is also a Janet Clare pattern available from The Little Fabric Store. Additional requirements needed to make the set.
After taking a little break from blogging, I'm back. Today is 3 years since I opened my shop in New Street, Louth. 4 years starting my business. It's been an incredible journey, one I couldn't have achieved without the support of my family, friends & amazing customers. As most of you know I started sewing 5 years ago, 35yrs old. I was totally new to this creative process & I couldn't get enough of it, I still can't :) It's been so rewarding encouraging others to have a go & enjoy sewing. I've met some talented quilters which have in truth inspired me too. I'm taking a break from my blog posts but you can still keep updated via my Facebook Page & Website. I have some exciting things planed for the future of The Little Fabric Store, free pattern & those kits I've been meaning to make up. Once again a big thanks to everyone who's taken the time to read my posts & updates. Do drop in when you're next in Lincolnshire, it's a lovely spot in the world & my shop will be sending out it's homing beacon to all you crafters in Louth.
