Happy New Year 2017

Happy New Year to you all, I hope you all managed to enjoy the festive period. I've started the Janet Clare Shipping Forecast Quilt. The pattern is in her "Hearty Good Wishes" Book. I'm really enjoying the appliqué. I've done a little free motion stitching before but I've decided to hand stitch these instead. I wasn't sure about the embroidery colour but I've settled on a beige tone. I'm having a lot of fun with this and as usual Janet's patterns bring a whole new meaning to quilting. It's all about having a go & making it your own. Janet's Quilts also have meaning, they have a story to tell. The bird quilt attracted a lot of attention in the shop & I know this quilt will do the same. These things are all very important for small businesses.

I've also got some fantastic new Moda fabrics in stock (soon to be added to the website). "Darling Little Dickens" are designed by Lydia Nelson. These classic prints in sweet neutrals are perfect for baby boy & girl projects.

There's also a new section "Maker of the Month". It's an opportunity for people to share their makes. Just send through a photo of anything made in that month using fabrics from The Little Fabric Store.
Email me at thelittlefabricstore@gmail.com or send a photo via Facebook
A winner will be picked each month and a prize will be given.

Christmas 2016

It's that festive time of the year, spending time with family & friends will soon be here. I also look forward to a bit of selfish sewing between Christmas & New Year.  I love those days when you don't even know what time it is as you've been lost in a project. Normally you know about it when people need feeding 😀

The shop is looking lovely with lots of tempting gifts in the window. I also have gift vouchers available. I love decorating the window & my home too. I managed to have a Crafternoon with family the other Sunday. We sat & ate chilli then made some Christmas decorations. It was so nice to get together & be creative. These winter months are the perfect excuse too.

I love Christmas :) there's nothing like visiting your local Christmas Market to get you in the festive mood. This year the Louth Independent Traders have organised the biggest Santa Clause you may have ever seen. The event is on Sunday 27th November 10am - 4pm.

There's plenty going on during the day, you can also make your own Christmas Bunting in my little shop. It's really easy too :) Everything will be provided. Please ring 01507 201131 or email me to book on (thelittlefabricstore@gmail.com) sessions are 10.30-11.30am & 12.30pm-1.30pm. £4 each.

I made my Christmas Bunting on Christmas Eve last year. We've had the same Christmas Lights hanging on our chimney breast for years and we couldn't find them anywhere!!! So I made these joyful things :)

The Victorian Fayre

The Victorian Fayre was held last Sunday. It was lovely to see people visiting Louth with family & friends, enjoying the day. The Louth Independent Traders organise these events, they're all local business owners who give up their time to organise and run these events. This is how much the independent shops care about Louth, working together to advertise and support each other, it's a great place to have a little fabric store.

- Victorian Helen, I could have been on Downton with this outfit:)
I bought this Vintage Apron at my last craft fair before opening my shop -

- My mum took these photos whilst walking around the stalls -

If there are any events in your area go along, support them
and you'll be sure to have a lovely day
